Credit Card Offers – A Guide To Different Offers Available In Australia

Credit card offers come in all sorts of different packages.

No matter what it is you are looking for in a card, there is a financial institution in Australia that has something for you, all you have to do is find it. Cards are broken up by feature, so your task is to figure out which features matter to you and then seek out the offers for those particular features.

Credit Card Types

The different kinds of credit cards can be broken up into two different categories of premium and no frills. Within those categories, they can be further broken down. For example, when it comes to premium plastic, you are looking at those of the Gold, Platinum, or Black variety. They are usually rewards cards that offer the cardholder back big perks for their equally big spending. With this type of plastic, you can expect things like free travel and purchase insurance, flight upgrades, and discounts for lodging, dining, and car hire. As you would expect along with those perks comes a big price tag too. High annual fees and even high interest rates are to be expected from premium plastic. These cards are good for the customer who spends a lot but who also pays of their full balance each month so their rewards have more value then the cost of the card.

The no frills variety is the opposite end of the plastic spectrum. They usually have no annual fee or low interest rates or both. They do not offer any incentive programs because there are no fees to pay for them. The ideal no annual fee customer is someone who does not use their card often and when they do, pays off the bill each month. Those who carry low interest cards might use their card occasionally but will also carry their balance over for a few months before they fully pay off the debt.

With so many different credit card types to choose from, it can be difficult to choose which one is best for you. The best way to pick is to first examine how you spend and what it is that you want from your cards. You may find that you spend enough to earn big rewards or that you will only use your cards so rarely that you could get a fee free one and finance those rare purchases for very little or no cost.
