Bankwest Zero Gold MasterCard
Whilst carrying out my monthly comparison of credit card deals I stumbled across the Zero Gold MasterCard. As someone who was actively looking for a new gold credit card I was impressed, and very tempted.
First of all to understand why this card looked so good to me, let me discuss what I think makes a good credit card.
Great balance transfer rate
One of the main reasons people move credit cards is to get some help with an outstanding balance. Moving to a card with a great low promotional rate saves money, and makes it easier to pay the debt off much faster than would otherwise be possible.
The Bankwest Zero Gold MasterCard has an excellent low rate of 4.99% p.a. for 12 months. If you have a substantial credit card debt there is no doubt this card will save you money, as long as you follow the usual balance transfer rules, and do not go spending money on it.
Reasonable standard rate
At a rate of 1% p.a. for 6 months (reverts to 17.99% p.a.) APR this card’s standard rate is one of the more competitive on the market and makes it reasonably cheap to use in an emergency. Another big plus with this card is that the interest rate for cash withdrawals is the same as the standard rate.
This makes it much easier to administrate the card, as well as being much cheaper than many other cards on the market. In fact there are very few cards that do not charge a much higher amount for cash transactions.
No yearly fee
Credit card companies often charge an annual fee which works in a similar way to a membership fee. It is a charge you have to pay once a year for the benefit of using the credit card services. Most annual fees range from $30 right up to $200 for a top of the range reward card.
The Bankwest Zero Gold has no yearly card fee to pay ever! It is not just a one year promotion used to bring in new customers. It is an ongoing deal. No fees for as long as you hold the card.
Rewards
Although a good rewards program is not really a vital part of a credit card it is a nice extra to have if you can get it. The Bankwest Zero Gold Card has a great program that hands you reward points every time you use your card to make a purchase, and then offers you an amazing range of exciting services and merchandise to redeem your points against.
Just in case all that didn’t convince you, these also come as standard:
This really is one of the best gold card deals around at the moment, and is attractive for both people wanting a cheap way to save money, as well as people looking for a cheaper way to spend money.
Like all great offers though I fear this may soon be taken off the market, so if you are serious about getting yourself the best deal possible my advice would be get onto Bankwest now!
